National Angels

National Association of Angel Communities - Neighbors Helping NeighborsWelcome to the National Angels! We are a network of volunteer communities that provide non-medical services to our neighbors who find themselves in the midst of a temporary crisis.

For families hit with serious illness or tragedy, life can be instantly turned upside down. And while many have the support of family and friends to help with the basic needs at home, these resources are often exhausted in short time leaving families to carry on during these most difficult times. The simplest tasks of putting dinner on the table, getting to the grocery store, driving the kids to soccer practice can seem insurmountable.

Already dozens of communities around the country have organized to bridge the gap in meeting these daily needs. Services include:

  • delivering meals
  • driving patients to/from medical appointments
  • providing daily check-in
  • running errands
  • homework help
  • light household tasks.

National Angels is being established to provide:

  • Resources and tools you’ll need to effectively coordinate your community of volunteers
  • Suggested skills set
  • Matching of volunteers to existing Angel Communities
  • Ideas for promoting your Angel Community
  • Legal considerations
  • Resource Guide with step-by-step approach
  • Stories about existing Angel Communities
  • Blogs and on-line chats where your questions can be answered and ideas can be shared with other Angel Communities

The National Angels will be launching soon to provide information and resources, whether you’re interested in establishing an Angel Community in your town or neighborhood or just trying to find an existing community where you could volunteer your time and energy.
